January 2010 We are sorry to announce that our Wild Salmon Oil is almost out of stock. Please be aware that we will not have salmon oil again until the next salmon season (approximately May). Due to continuing declines in wild salmon populations, we anticipate that there may be shortages of salmon oil in 2010. Several factors likely to play a role include increases in temperature because of climate change, decreases of food in the ecosystem, changes in ocean conditions and competition between hatchery- and wild-bred salmon. When we started the Timberwolf Ambassadors contest, we were delighted by the flood of responses we received from pet owners across the nation. We loved seeing your pets and reading their Timberwolf tales. Some stories were funny, others were touching, but they all made us smile. However, all good things must end sooner or later, and we are sad to announce that the end has come for the Timberwolf Ambassadors contest. Please see the Ambassadors page for information on the winner! Congratulations!

When we ran our survey late last year, we learned a lot about you, our customers and what you wanted for your pets. We believe your opinions are particularly important because you have specific needs for your pets and you know what they like.
So when we decided to create some new and tasty canned options for canines, we decided to offer our customers the opportunity to be included in the decision-making process.
With our unique nutritional creativity to forge great formulations and your recommendations, we will soon have some great new Timberwolf offerings for your dogs. So take a moment to look at our survey on our main page and make your dog's bark be heard.

In the coming weeks, Timberwolf will introduce a new kibble shape and size to complement our great recipes. The formulas, however, will remain the same.
Our new, restyled kibble has a more barrel-shaped structure that exercises a light abrasive effect on the teeth, which helps dislodge dental plaque. Dogs find this shape easier to grip, and the new shape minimizes crumbling and rolling around the bowl and therefore less chasing and air gulping. Chewing also encourages salivation, which in turn aids in digestion.
For bigger dogs that wolf down their food with little chewing, it’s beneficial to feed a more moderately sized kibble. Smaller dogs will also find the new kibble size much to their liking, as it's perfectly sized for nimble mouths.
In the wild animals eat raw foods, which mechanically abrade plaque from teeth. Cats and dogs are more susceptible to the formation of plaque than their wild cousins and are subject to periodontal disease, which is caused by bacterial plaque attacking the gums. Regular teeth cleaning can help prevent periodontal disease in your pet and should be part of your pet's good health care regime.
